Another drop in active COVID-19 cases in Hastings-Prince Edward

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Hastings-Prince Edward has dropped again.

HPE Public Health says one more person has recovered from the virus and the number of active cases here is now at five, with three in Quinte West and one each in Belleville and Centre Hastings.

There were no new cases reported today in HPE either.

Meanwhile in Northumberland County there are two active cases, but the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Health Unit hasn’t reported any new cases there today.

Ontario is reporting 934 new cases of COVID-19 today, and 10 new deaths due to the virus.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 420 cases are in Toronto, 169 in Peel Region, 95 in York Region and 62 in Ottawa.

The province says it has conducted 35,621 tests since the last daily report, and has a backlog of 40,074.
