No new COVID-19 cases again in Hastings-Prince Edward

No newly announced positive COVID-19 cases or recoveries has frozen the active case count at five in the Hastings-Prince Edward region.

A total of 82 virus cases have been reported in the area by the local health unit since March, with 72 resolved cases and five deaths.

Three of the five currently active cases are from Belleville, and two reside in Quinte West, as indicated by HPE Public Health on its information dashboard.

More than 48,000 tests have been completed since the start of the pandemic.

Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health officials say there are two active cases in Northumberland County, while the Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington Health Unit is reporting five active cases in its region.

Ontario has cleared the 1,000 case threshold on Friday, with 1,003, many staying in Toronto, Peel, and York.
