HPEPH announces another COVID-19 case at QW workplace

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has announced another COVID-19 case at a business in Quinte West.

The local health unit confirmed on Sunday that a case was confirmed at the McDonald’s on Monogram Place in Trenton and that the employee worked from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. from Monday, December 7 through Friday, December 11.

Management at the restaurant made the decision to close the location for a thorough cleaning and sanitization by a certified third party — staff with any potential workplace exposure to the positive case are also being advised that they are to stay home until the health unit completes its investigation and contact tracing process.

Anyone who was served at this McDonald’s location from December 7th through the 11th is being asked to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.

All residents are reminded that no one is immune to the virus and some individuals may be exposed despite their best efforts.

Be kind to one another as we work together to stop the spread of this virus.

To reduce your risk and the risk to those you care about:

— Stay home when you are sick, even with mild symptoms;
— Always physical distance from those outside your household;
— Wear a mask when physical distancing is difficult or not possible;
— Wash your hands often and clean frequently touched surfaces;
— Monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and seek testing if symptoms develop.
